- High Street TV, Kier, Rixonway Kitchens, Mills & Reeve and BBC Worldwide
- 3. Why do you love what you do?
- Everyday is different - you couldn’t ask for a more varied job. The broad selection of clients keeps everyday interesting and jam packed!
- 4. Your ‘Hero’ hour? (this is a project or job in which you did something fantastic)
- In only my first weeks here I was handed an Acceleris t-shirt and a basket of branded fruit and instructed to hit the streets during the CIH Exhibition as part of our ‘Freshen up your communications’ drive to spread word of the great work we do. We certainly grabbed everyone’s attention and it was a great success.!'
- 5. Projects I am currently working on?
- I’m currently working with a wide variety of clients which means my day varies between focusing on trade titles, to brainstorming big ideas, to hitting the national newspapers and onto writing locally-angled press releases

- 2. Name five clients you have enjoyed working on
- Kier, the National Federation of ALMOs, Bluefin Insurance, the Leeds Community Stars Awards and the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
- 3. Why do you love what you do?
- I love becoming an ‘expert’ in all sorts of random things; so far I have learnt about social housing, conceptual art, energy drinks and flood defence. I also love how creative and energetic the team is.
- 4. Your ‘Hero’ hour? (this is a project or job in which you did something fantastic)
- I was particularly proud of the project we ran for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund to help save the congenital heart surgery unit at the Leeds General Infirmary which serves a population of 5.5 million people across the region but is at risk of closure due to a national review of NHS services. We have secured widespread media coverage, organised a series of awareness events (some at very short notice!) and taken a role in managing the charity’s social media strategy. For more information on the campaign click here.
- 5. Projects I am currently working on?
- As well as day-to-day media relations and PR writing for all my accounts, I am currently working on preparations for the first Leeds Community Stars Awards, which we are managing on behalf of the three Leeds ALMOs, Aire Valley Homes, West North West Homes and East North East Homes, and the Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation (BITMO). The awards will recognise the achievements of individuals and resident groups making life better for the local community. The awards are due to take place in July and are being sponsored by Asda, Leeds Tenant Federation, Mears, Morrison and British Gas.

- 2. Tell us a bit about your professional background and studies:
- In 2011, I graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. From there I went to Manchester and did a three-month work placement with a creative agency. Most of my time there was taken up with different sorts of writing, from case studies and press releases to blog posts, which were in support of a social media strategy.
- 3. Why do you love what you do?
- This role allows me to write and that is what I love. I get to combine creativity with being informative, analysis with entertainment and journalism with sales. Plus, the learning never stops. Each client requires different skills and knowledge, so before we even begin a campaign, we have to become an ‘expert’ in a particular field, whatever that may be.
- 4. Your ‘Hero’ hour? (this is a project or job in which you did something fantastic)
- Yet to be decided! :)
- 5. Projects I am currently working on?
- I’m currently working on the Adapted Vehicle Hire (AVH) campaign for Nexus – this one’s great because through the research I’ve done, I am now never going to be ripped off whilst buying a second hand car. But really, supporting AVH will by extension help thousands of disabled people with transport and travel and that’s an end result to feel good about. I’m also providing editorial support for Insight, the magazine for residents of South Essex Homes.
