Introduction

Kier Services is the UK’s leading provider of specialist services to the public and private sectors and is a division of Kier Group plc, the construction, services and property business with 11,000 employees worldwide and annual revenues of £2.2 billion.

What we were asked to do

Acceleris was appointed by Kier Services Maintenance business in 2010 to deliver a comprehensive programme of regional, trade and national media relations, internal communications, event management and marketing support.  The business is one of the UK’s leading repair and maintenance contractors in the social and affordable housing sector.

What we did

Acceleris’s role was to establish Kier as ‘a dominant voice within the sector.’ This was achieved by:-

  • A rolling media relations campaign and local, regional, trade and national level embracing online and offline channels, print and broadcast and delivering more than 1,000 positive media articles
  • The research, writing, design and production of a regular magazine issued to more than 3,000 staff
  • Organised high level dinners in the House of Commons and at major industry conferences
  • Organised Round Table sector seminars
  • Event management

The Results

Kier Maintenance is recognised as a respected and authoritative voice in the social and affordable housing sector, an innovative  and successful business with a proven track record of delivering results and with an impressive pedigree in community commitment.

As a result of our on-going work with Maintenance, Acceleris was engaged by several other businesses within the Kier Services division, including Facilities Management, Energy Solutions and Environmental.
