September 08
Acceleris promotes Walker Morris sponsorship of launch exhibition at new Saatchi gallery
acceleris client, national law firm Walker Morris, has reinforced its reputation for innovative sponsorship of the arts with its most ambitious project to date. The firm is to sponsor the inaugural exhibition at the new Saatchi Gallery in London, the largest, free-entry, contemporary art museum in the world and one of the most eagerly-anticipated events in the sphere of international arts.
‘The Revolution Continues - New art from China’, a breakthrough exhibition of contemporary works, paintings, sculpture and installations, by 30 of China’s leading artists, will launch the 70,000 sq ft new gallery housed in the Duke of York’s Headquarters on the King’s Road in Chelsea. The gallery opens to the public on October 9.
acceleris is running a national media relations campaign to communicate the latest initiative in Walker Morris’s long-standing support for the arts.
Peter Davenport, Managing Director of acceleris marketing communications, says:
'Walker Morris has an enviable record of support for the arts from the grass roots to international standard as a way of demonstrating the innovative way it works with clients. The strap-line it has developed to support this latest sponsorship - ‘Invention not Convention’ - sums up the firm’s professional ethos and why it has been able to build a national and international client base from its base in Leeds.'
A million visitors are expected to view the exhibition by the end of this year, inspiring debate and challenging perceptions of China.
Walker Morris has been a significant provider of arts sponsorship for more than a decade during which it has supported and developed a number of unique initiatives which have helped bring art to the wider community. The new sponsorship follows on from the firm’s earlier association with the Saatchi Gallery which involved bringing the critically acclaimed ‘The Triumph of Painting’ exhibition to Leeds City Art Gallery where it was seen by record numbers of visitors
The exhibition also reinforces Walker Morris’s developing business connections with China, advising UK based companies operating there as well as, increasingly, acting for Chinese companies looking to expand in to Europe.
