acceleris marketing communications helps Smart & Cook raise £27,000 for guide dogs charity
Insurance broker Smart & Cook selected the Guide Dogs for the Blind as their chosen charity for 2007/8 and briefed us to develop a high profile fundraising campaign that would enjoy widespread staff support and attract media interest.
We proposed the 'Walk of Sight'. Smart & Cook staff from each of the company's 29 offices came together with members of the public to take part in sponsored walks around the UK.
The campaign launched in September at four different locations and aimed to raise at least £25,000. Staff members walked circular routes of between five and 15 miles.
The Walk of Sight was a tremendous success. Smart & Cook staff members walked a total of 600 miles in under three hours and raised over £27,000 for the charity. Smart & Cook has now adopted two guide dog puppies, called ‘Smartie’ and ‘Cookie’, and will be supporting their training and development.
