Nigel is a chartered accountant whose career was in professional services. He was a partner with Arthur Andersen for 18 years and then with Deloitte's for 2 years, before retiring from practice in 2005. Since then he has been actively involved with the venture capital sector and made a number of investments in developing companies as a business angel.
He is a non-executive director of a number of public and private companies.
NED Sean Lippell has more than 35 years' experience as a corporate lawyer and recently retired as a partner from Addleshaw Goddard, a post which he held for 13 years, five of which were as corporate division managing partner.
Sean’s reputation is well known and his high standing in the local and corporate marketplace was evidenced most recently with his Lifetime Achievement accolade in the Yorkshire Dealmaker awards. Sean has led and advised on a number of high profile multi million pound transactions in recent years for Addleshaw Goddard.
Alison is Company Secretary at Acceleris, taking responsibility for the company accounts and financial management. She also covers HR, legal, office management and the administration of our job management and costing system, Synergist.
Alison has worked for Acceleris since its beginnings in 2006 and was a central figure in its inception, as well as being vital to the success the business has so far achieved.

Lisa has over ten years’ PR and communications experience, working on accounts in just about every industry sector possible, including construction, healthcare, food and drink, automotive, technology, telecoms and utilities.
Prior to joining Acceleris, and after several years’ working in some of Yorkshire’s leading agencies, Lisa went to work in-house as PR manager for a leading business telecoms provider. Having worked in-house as well as agency-side, Lisa has seen the industry from both sides of the spectrum and built up an impressive portfolio of consumer and B2B experience along the way.
At Acceleris, she manages client accounts including Vantage Motor Group and Nexus Rental, and is also actively involved in new business development. Lisa has a proven track-record of delivering outstanding results for her clients, whatever their sector or business objectives. She holds a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Public Relations from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Rebecca manages a number of client accounts including Rentplus, Utilita Energy and Remade in Britain and specialises in the social housing sector, with experience working for a number of housing organisations, trade bodies and suppliers in the industry.
Rebecca joined Acceleris from the Daily Telegraph where she worked within the digital content team covering such events as London 2012, American elections and the birth of the Royal baby. She studied English Literature at the University of Liverpool before going on to gain a Masters in Journalism at the University of Sheffield.
David holds a First Class Honours degree in Public Relations from Leeds Beckett University, and won the 2015 Claire Mascall PR Prize. His work placements and internships mean he has experience in-house and at agency level with a number of small and big businesses, including GE Oil & Gas and London Stock Exchange Group.
Combining strategic and creative thinking, David looks to deliver innovative and achievable campaigns for clients as part of the Acceleris team. He works out of the London office.

Katie holds a degree in English Literature from the University of East Anglia, bringing strong copy-writing and proof-reading skills to the team. Katie works across a number of accounts from the maritime to motoring sector and is a digital expert, running a number of successful social media events for confectionary client, Ultimate English. She has also developed key relationships with bloggers, having worked with a number of key titles across the food and drink industry to deliver strong results for clients.
Katie has an integrated role on The Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society account, performing key functions which include writing copy, media buying and managing the day-to-day running of their social media accounts. This comprises of generating fresh content to populate the Society’s social channels, as well as using social media to build links between the Society and other relevant groups.
Katie’s expertise lies in developing a clear voice for clients on social media, successfully utilising social channels to boost client profiles and generate new PR opportunities. In her time with the agency, Katie has further built on and improved her background in writing, refining her keen eye for close analysis.

Peter Davenport is one of the most experienced media and public relations (PR) specialists in the country.
For 25 years he was a senior national journalist, first on the Daily Mail and then on The Times, including a period as its defence correspondent. Peter travelled with Pope John Paul on his historic pilgrimage to Ireland, met and interviewed a diverse range of characters from Fred Astaire and John Wayne to the Rolling Stones and worked extensively on overseas assignments in the USA, India, the Middle East, the Falklands and most major European countries.
Since moving into PR, Peter has devised and delivered campaigns for major clients in the public and private sectors, as well as advising on crisis management issues surrounding sensitive and high profile cases. He has created and managed campaigns for sponsors of major sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games and the inaugural Round the World Yacht Race.

Simon has ten years' PR experience gained working for clients large and small in the public, third and private sectors. He is one of the original members of the Acceleris team and has played an important role in developing the agency into an award-winning consultancy.
In his time at Acceleris, Simon has delivered crisis management, media relations, social media and integrated marketing campaigns for clients such as Theakston’s, Sainsbury’s, motors.co.uk, Walker Morris and Kier.
Simon is currently head of the agency’s social housing team and has extensive knowledge and experience within the sector. He works with a number of housing organisations and suppliers. Current clients include the National Federation of ALMOs (NFA), Utilita Energy, Rixonway Kitchens, Kier Homes and RENTplus.
Notable projects have included raising the profile of council tenants to counter negative media perceptions. This project won the 2014 PRCA Dare Award for Best Public Sector Campaign.

Ellie oversees accounts for clients including the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations (NFFO), European trade body Europêche, UK Fuels, and the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society as well as a number of other third sector organisations. Having joined the agency in 2010, Ellie has delivered award winning campaigns across a range of disciplines including media relations, crisis communications, events and social media. In November 2014, she was crowned 'Outstanding Young Communicator' at the prestigious CIPR PRide Awards for Yorkshire & Lincolnshire.
Before joining the agency, Ellie worked at the Environment Agency specialising in PR and community relations for flood and coastal risk management schemes across Yorkshire and the North East. Ellie holds a BA (Hons) degree in German from the University of Leeds and completed a CIPR Advanced Certificate in Public Relations in 2010.

Charley Oakes - Senior Copywriter & Editorial Project Manager
As well as being resident copywriter at Acceleris, Charley manages the agency's many editorial projects, from newsletters, magazines and annual reports to websites, social media and online news feeds. Her proudest projects include completion of a major rebrand and web project for Rentplus, a new website launched for Severfield plc in 2014, the Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society’s annual report and the National Federation of ALMOs’ annual review. She is also responsible for an agency first - the production of a book for the Royal Alfred Seafarers' Society's 150th anniversary.
Charley has been with Acceleris since she joined as Copywriter in 2008. Before that, she worked at DirectNews, writing copy for a wide range of company websites and also provided copywriting services as a freelancer. She holds a 2:1 Creative Writing BA (Hons) and enjoys writing fiction in her spare time.

Jack works out of Acceleris’ London office, supporting its PR offering and new business drive in the capital. He is also part of the maritime team at Acceleris and was a member of the team that delivered crisis communications support to the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations. This campaign went on to win four highly-respected industry awards, including the European Excellence Award.
Coming from a background in creative writing, Jack brings copywriting support and script writing skills to the Acceleris team and has been the creative force behind several videos for clients and the agency itself. He has also led on other types of projects including website builds and brochure designs.

Mike studied Film and Television Production at university and is a qualified journalist. Mike worked as a reporter for the York Press, a Press and Media Secretary for UK Parliament and a Campaign Manager for one of the main political parties before joining the team at Acceleris.

Brought in whenever we need an extra hand, David is a ‘friend of the family’ who flits between roles. From Account Executive to Account Director, he gives us whatever support we need with particular emphasis on copywriting, web work and media liaison.
Since being appointed assistant press officer at the Yorkshire Regional Health Authority in 1985, David’s exciting career has seen him as both journalist and broadcaster, progressing via the Ministry of Defence and in-house roles in New Zealand and Dubai, to some of the UK’s largest regional and national communications/PR agencies and has since run his own companies.
