iFish website gives European consumers what they want
Acceleris has launched a brand new, consumer-facing website for European fishing body Europêche.
Following a survey carried out by Acceleris showing that over two thirds (68 per cent) of Europeans wanted to know more about where and how their fish had been caught, the award-winning agency has built the iFish website for Europêche covering key themes such as economic and environmental impact of the fishing industry, as well as its role in providing a healthy, sustainable food source.
Acceleris Managing Director, Louise Vaughan, who heads up the agency’s Maritime Division, said: “We carried out the first ever pan-European survey of attitudes among consumers towards the fishing industry and it was clear there was a lack of information for those fish eaters. To fill the void we built the iFish website for Europêche, which gives consumers what they want.”
The website was designed, built and populated within just six weeks so that it could be launched at the Seafood Expo in Brussels (21-22 April 2015), which is attended by more than 25,000 companies from over 150 countries. You can see it for yourself here www.ifish.info
Europêche represents 80,000 fishermen and 45,000 vessels within the EU fleet.
