Acceleris to sponsor Fishing News Awards
Harrogate and London PR agency Acceleris is to sponsor the 2016 Fishing News Awards to further strengthen its position as the leading communications expert for the maritime industry.
The Awards night promises to be one of the biggest dates on the fishing industry’s calendar in 2016, with the agency supporting as a sponsor following years of working closely with the industry.
Acceleris has been a long-time advocate for sustainable fishing in the UK and Europe, promoting the work of industry bodies such as the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations and Europeche and correcting widespread misconceptions. The award-winning agency assisted in high profile cases combatting misleading media reports from organisations including Greenpeace and celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to provide the often unfairly persecuted maritime industry with a stronger voice.
Managing Director of Acceleris, Louise Vaughan, said: “We have a great relationship and knowledge of the UK and European fishing industries and are always looking to get involved in new ways.
“The Fishing News Awards are a very prestigious and worthwhile evening, celebrating the diversity of the UK fleet and the excellent work it does in providing delicious, varied, and sustainable fish to us, while making a significant contribution to the economy.”
Acceleris recently celebrated its second European Excellence Award in three years in the ‘Issues and Reputation Management’ category for its work with Europeche, following its 2013 award defending the NFFO, further cementing its reputation as one of the UK’s leading maritime communications experts.
The Fishing News Awards will take place in Aberdeen on Thursday 26th May.
