Reputation Sensation: Accelers Up For International Award

Acceleris Shortlisted For Fifth European Excellence Award In Six Years

Acceleris is pleased to announce it has been shortlisted for a prestigious European Excellence Award in the Issues and Reputation Management category for its work with maritime client Nautilus International.
This is the fifth time in the last six years the agency has been shortlisted alongside Europe’s leading communicators and follows a hat-trick of wins in Berlin (2016), Stockholm (2015) and Munich (2013).
Acceleris was credited for its ongoing campaign with the maritime trade union that represents 22,000 members across the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Judges highlighted the agency’s work to bolster public and political support for seafarers and for delivering widespread industry, public and parliamentary engagement affecting real and positive change.
More than 400 pieces of coverage were secured by Acceleris across national print and online media, reaching almost 2.5billion people globally. Coverage of the campaign also helped to secure payment for workers onboard Kingfisher Beer tycoon Vijay Mallya’s impounded yacht and the Union’s work was even raised in Parliament by former Shipping Minister Rt Hon John Hayes MP.
Louise Vaughan, Group Managing Director of Acceleris and Limelight PR, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to have been shortlisted at one of our industry’s most prestigious awards programmes and it solidifies our international status as a champion of reputation management across diverse sectors.
“Maritime communications are increasingly important for an island nation gearing up to leave the EU as 95% of things we consume are brought to us by sea. I’m pleased we’ve helped to raise the profile of Nautilus and the industry and we look forward to battling it out for the trophy in Dublin.”
This latest awards’ recognition comes after Acceleris’ campaign with Nautilus won the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) Dare Award in the Charity/Not for Profit category in July.
The agency will be hoping to raise a glass to celebrate in Dublin at a glitzy awards ceremony on 6 December.
