A new face for the UK maritime industry’s only dedicated pension plan
Supporting more than 80 employers and aimed at more than 185,000 workers at sea and on shore, not-for-profit pension scheme Ensign is the only dedicated pension plan for the entire UK maritime industry.
Ensign was formerly known as the Ensign Retirement Plan and wanted a brand that would accurately reflect its business, catapult its reputation and support its long-term growth ambitions.
The client approached Acceleris to deliver a new, less corporate and modern brand to represent the company and be a stronger foundation for future marketing communication. This needed to appeal to a broad range of audiences and include a new website, a wide range of marketing collateral and a new approach to content.
What we did
Acceleris’ editorial projects division Writers Inc. managed the creation of a fresh new brand and a wide range of online and offline collateral, including a major website, animation, whitepapers, infographics, and stationery. A key aspect of our role was to write fresh and engaging content for all online and printed materials, with a brave tone of voice to differentiate Ensign from its competitors, which include the major general pension providers and companies’ own pension funds. We needed not only to understand the complex pensions market, but to make it accessible and develop concise and engaging copy to draw the reader in.
This intensive project saw us working closely with our creative partners and Ensign’s marketing team to deliver the required outputs and act as the client’s first port of call for enquiries throughout.
Ensign now has an attractive new brand and suite of professional marketing materials which better reflect and represent the business and helps it stand out from the crowd. The website contains engaging and interactive material that Ensign believes will help change the way people understand pensions, helping them grow their pots and save for the best possible retirement.
