Celebrating 40 years of housing in the North 

The client

The Northern Housing Consortium represents the views of housing organisations across the North of England and is recognised as a significant voice in the housing sector. Its 440 members include councils, local authorities and housing associations.

The objective

Acceleris was appointed in July 2014 to develop a communication and sponsorship strategy to support the organisation as it celebrated its 40th anniversary.

What we did

We began by assessing the commercial potential of Consortium events and creating a detailed sponsorship document. We then approached sponsors in the housing, building and construction sectors to secure interest in a series of Consortium events including the flagship Northern Housing Summit in Leeds, which was to be attended by Housing Minister Brandon Lewis MP.

We also put in place a hard-hitting media relations campaign to promote the Consortium in key trade sector titles.

Results

Sponsorship

We raised £11,500 in sponsorship to support the Summit and Silver Screen Awards programme. As a result, the Consortium was able to reinvest revenue generated to continue providing services to its members.

Media relations

The media relations campaign delivered numerous quality trade feature articles and over 566,251 opportunities to see. As a result, the Consortium was able to successfully share its work, policy priorities and achievements with key influencers.
