What Acceleris was asked to do

Acceleris was appointed to publicise the launch of UsefulStudents.com, an innovative web-based job broker site, targeting students and potential job providers across the UK driving traffic to the website.

What we did

Acceleris prepared a comprehensive media campaign to target print, broadcast and online media focusing on the unique nature of the business, the background of its founders incorporating current ‘University’ statistics. Acceleris implemented a programme of communications activity split into four sections:

  • Launch press pack
  • Journalist interviews
  • National radio day
  • Additional profile opportunities

The distribution of the press release targeted national and regional print and broadcast as well as trade magazines and the student press.

In addition to the press release, Acceleris arranged a radio day with a mixture of 16 live and pre-recorded interviews for the client.

Acceleris also engineered a number of proactive opportunities from activity including identifying comment opportunities for features concentrating on topics such as recruitment and student debt.

The results

During the launch month, there were over 6.5 million opportunities to see/hear about the UsefulStudents.com brand, with 3,318,000 on the first day alone. Articles on the business launch were featured in The Times, The Guardian, Real Business Magazine, The Independent, Yorkshire Post, Financial Times, 5Live, South West Business Magazine, BBC Radio Ulster, Sky News, BBC Radio York and many more. The coverage equated to an extremely strong return on investment of fifty three times the value of spend for UsefulStudents.com, an average ROI would normally be around seven times.
